Your Daily Saving Tips (Part 1)
Today I would like to share with you some good saving ideas to help you through the current recessionary period.
Some people said: ‘Cash is king today” Of course, there are still things that money can’t buy. The
recession has hit some of us harder than the rest, especially those who invested in the markets. Therefore I am going to share 10 smart money-saving tips that will allow you to stretch your dollar for better deal.
1. Super-marketing
When shopping for groceries or daily necessities, always try to take advantage when there is a sale. Buy in advance items that are not perishable. But please also do not buy for the sake of buying just because something is on sale. One of the methods that you can do is to have a shopping list written down so that you will only buy what is needed. Avoid going to ‘high-end’ supermarket. Do check out store near Chinatown area or around your neighbourhood for great bargain
2. Choose house-brand product if possible.
Does the brand of tissues paper or brand of washing powder matter to you? If it does not make a difference to your lifestyle, take the house brands instead. Every time you shop for these items, just go directly for the house brands which are typically 5-20 per cent cheaper.
3. Use your credit card only when necessary
Own only one credit card if possible. Choose one card that provides you with most benefits. The more cards you own, the more reason you may want to spend it. Golden rule when using credit card: Never try to use future money and always pay off your credit card debts on time so that no interest will be charged. Compounding interest is your enemy in this case.
4. Resist the temptation to purchase big-ticket items
Sit back and take a deep breath when you have the urge to buy big-ticket items such as the latest IT gadgets or new designer bags. Sometime holding back can be a better choice because you may be able to find other better deals elsewhere. The sale is in the market. Do your research and scout for second hand deals on the Web. Never buy on impulse!
5. Give your dream holiday a break
Christmas season is coming and everyone else you know is probably looking for a nice place to escape from the harsh reality we are facing now. But now isn’t the best time to take a grand vacation. If you really need to take a break, head for destinations in the region rather than traveling to Europe. Lately budget airline is offering 1 CENTS air tickets to places like Vietnam & Thailand and after including the tax, one only need to pay less than $200 to enjoy a holiday too! What a good deal in times like this.

Stumbled on your website from Google Search as i was looking to know something about credit cards in details. Read the whole article on your site and i must say that me and my husband loved reading your post. So i thought of sharing a tip to all your users: For the lowest discount rates for transactions at a point of sale location, try to avoid typing in the credit cards numbers manually, but rather swipe the credit card with your terminal. A swiped credit card is typically given a lower discount rate per transaction. We bookmarked your website. Thanks alot – Steffi
