Today was my first day at NTU for the career fair. It’s my first time going into NTU and i felt that it was really far to go in without a car. Can’t imagine those students staying at the east and studying over there! I really saluted the hardworking spirit that all the students that take effort to travel so far to study. Well done!

Back to the career fair, it was really very crowded. Lots of students were there hoping to look for a job during this period of time. Most of them are graduating in May and i supposed they want to secure a job before graduating. One thing that i noticed was that there are alot of foreign students in NTU. Every 10 person that i spoke to, there will be at least half that are non-local. Either that, it was because no locals want to talk to me. Hahaha…

Anyway it was really fun to be there and get to know many people out there who really aspire to work in the financial industry despite such downturn. It was truly an entreprenuer mindset! I believe that those people who made the decision will not regret because this is one job that is recession -proof. No retrenchment and no bonus freeze! Everything depends on your hardwork.

As i told many of them, one should answer these questions before embarking in this career: What is the most that i will gain and what is the worst that i will lose if i failed? The worst that a person can suffer is the loss of time BUT the things that a person can gain is incredible! He/She gains the type of soft skills that can be transferable to any field of work in the future and the kind of experiences that makes them a stronger person.
