Education is very important to a person’s development. In the more pragmatic sense, it is the pre-requisite to employment. Even today’s world, education has already become a key necessity. In the past, it was the key to a good life. Now, where the job market is competitive and everyone is arming themselves with certificates, it is the key to survival.Looking for a good university is important if you intend to work in the civil service line because only certain university is being recognised by the employer. However, we have to admit that good tertiary education is expensive everywhere. We are talking about university courses and costs. It is no where near “cheap”, or “affordable”. A course range from a minimum of $30,000 plus to just below $100,000. And let’s not forget the cost of books bought every semester, the cost of daily traveling and eating and cost of hostel stay for some. That will add up to a grand sum far beyond most people’s annual salary. As a result, most parent will end up taking loan for their child if their child does not qualify for any scholarship.

It’s obvious it takes a genius to raise that kind of money in a few years time; therefore the best time to start is when the child is born, or better yet even before that. Whatever the case there is something to be done, if not you will compromise the education of your child, as had happened to unprepared parents who could not provide for the tertiary education when there child reached the right age.

First and foremost, Set A Goal. As they say when you fail to plan, you plan to fail. In the case, your child will fail to get a good job. Therefore, set up a realistic, concrete goal .Calculate the possible Cost Of Education. The different costs as described above must be taken into consideration. Some research has to be done on course fees and accommodation costs. Let’s not forget inflation, so set the number a little above the estimated. Then form a plan with people who are financially educated. There are many ways to do so, and if you feel lost, seek out a financial advisor to help you. You probably can get a balanced policy that also take care of insurance .If not, take up a separate insurance policy from your advisor.
