I came across this very interesting email that my friend sent to me and i found it useful hence i like to share with you guys. Hope it can bring some ‘light’ in your life =) This is about the story of Mayonnaise Jar

A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

‘Now,’ said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things – family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions –
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else –The small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ He continued,
‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So…

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

‘Take care of the golf balls first –
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.’

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled..
‘I’m glad you asked’.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.’

Please share this with other “Golf Balls”
I just did……

Don’t worry, be happy. It sounds very simple, right? However, in reality, it is so hard for us to be happy 24/7, especially during this economic downturn. We worry that we will get retrenched, we worry that we don’t have enough to save; we worry that we will not get a bonus, etc etc.
We can have much more happiness if we choose to look at the positive side of things.
Everyone experiences the ups and downs of life, but, we can make a decision to dwell on the negative or make do with whatever life has given us. Remember this phrase, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”

Being happy depends on the attitude that YOU choose. If you can choose the right attitude, you will have the ability to mold your mood into any shape you like.

Here are some tips to help you to stay happy:

• Think of a happy moment whenever you feel down.
• Ignore those who tell you that life is too difficult to be happy. What do they know?
• When you awaken each morning, be thankful for another day, even if it’s raining.
• Smile at those you meet, even if they don’t return the favor.
• Don’t allow trouble affect you. When there is a will, there is a way.
• Don’t give in to negative thinking.
• Stand upright! It’s hard to be sad when you stand this way.
• Eat your favorite food.
• Refuse to give up on anything worth having or doing.
• Do something you enjoy each day, even if it’s just window shopping.
• Hum your favorite song as you go through the day.
• Work at being happy because it’s worth it.

You’re human, like everyone else, and from time to time you need a little pick-me-up in your decision to be happy. When you reach that stage, find someone else who has decided to be happy. Join forces with him or her and march forward in your decision to be a happy person.

Simply speaking, a happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.

Choose today to just be happy – its all depends on you!
