How many of us wants to have the ability to achieve anything you want in life? And how many of us really achieve the things you want in life? The answer is often ” i want many things but i never be able to achieve it”

From the answer, we can know why we seldom achieve the things that we want. The reason is because our wish is a ‘want’ and not a ‘MUST’. The moment something becomes a ‘want/should/will’ instead of a ‘MUST’, we will rarely achieve it. You will always find a way to put it off or to quit the moment you meet resistence.

However the good things is that we all have the ability or at least have tried many times before to make our wish a ‘MUST’. One good example is our school projects. Let say you are given the final year project on the 31 Oct 08 and are required to complete by 31 Dec 08. Many people will normally put off the idea of starting it early. In fact most of us will only do it when we are close to the dateline. Personally i know of many people who will do in only after 1 Dec 08! Some maybe thinking why they doesn’t want to do it slowly so that can have time to do more research. The reason is the same. Completing the project early is a ‘want’ to them but completing the project by 31 Dec 08 is a ‘MUST’ to them. Hence you see many of them will sure complete on time.

In life, it is not what we expect, but what we are willing to accept that matters. Our level of acceptance is what determines our level of success and achievements in life. We ALWAYS get what we are willing to ACCEPT! You may set a goal to earn $20,000 but if you are willing to accept earning $5000, then $5000 is what you are going to end up getting. Unless we raise our acceptance levels, we will never do what is neccessary to achieve our goals.

Take for example: Tiger Wood. He has never willing to be no. 2 in his line of sports. To me, winning no.1 is a MUST. Anything lower than that is not ACCEPTABLE!

Have you ever considered what influences our level of acceptance? Well, the standards we have, come generally from our family, friends and our environment. The people whom we spend most of our time with define the standards we measure ourselves against. In fact, research has shown that people normally earn an average more or less of the 5 people they spend time most with.

In my next article, i will share with you the second part of how to raise your level of acceptance. Stay tuned!

Hello guys! I’m back from my NLP course and now i am feeling really very recharged and motivated! This NLP training has been my best training so far because of the things that i have learnt. This is my 2nd NLP that i have attended and i’m glad that i went for it. We have learnt alot of things such as the ultimate success formula, changing belief system, pattern of excellence and skills such as pacing and leading.

The most impactful exercises were the visualisation and changing belief system. Alva used a total new approach to teach us how to change our belief most effective in just 30min! I have decided to share what i have learnt last week with all my readers. I will update slowly topic by topic due to my busy schedule. Hoping that you can learn something out of it too. Should you guys have any questions about NLP, please feel free to drop me an email and i will answer to your questions asap!

By the way, the above were pictures taken during our NLP course. The second pic showing two persons doing the same things was the exercise of modeling other people’s feeling. This exercise was very useful in the sense that it helps you to feel the way the other party was feeling at that point of time by JUST MODELING EVERYTHING! Even the breathing!!! It’s simply amazing to see how we can actually get into the other party mind by just copying the way people’s posture. Learning such skills are important because it helps you in building rapport with your friends and making them comfortable with you. I always believe that NLP can be applicable in all aspects of life so once you are a master of it, you are incredible!

Its’ late and i will be back to update more about what i have learnt in NLP. Stay tuned!

Today was my first day of NLP training attending as a coach. It was really quite good for me because i get to refresh the stuff on NLP and get to have first hand training on how to assist as a coach. For those who don’t know what is NLP. Basically it stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

NLP was originally promoted by its founders, Bandler and Grinder, in the 1970s as an extraordinarily effective and rapid form of psychological therapy, capable of addressing the full range of problems which psychologists are likely to encounter, such as phobias, depression, habit disorder, psychosomatic illnesses, learning disorders. It also espoused the potential for self-determination through overcoming learnt limitations and emphasized well-being and healthy functioning. Later, it was promoted as a ‘science of excellence’, derived from the study or ‘modeling’ of how successful or outstanding people in different fields obtain their results. It was claimed that these skills can be learned by anyone to improve their effectiveness both personally and professionally.

We have done a few exercises today and it was quite impactful. Really appreciated the fact that i am in an agency where we strongly believed in educating ourselves through such training. I will update more of what i be going through for the next two days. Stay tuned for more updates!
